Key Verses for This Ministry:

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

1 Thessalonians 2:13 We also constantly give thanks to God for this, that when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word but as what it really is, God's word, which is also at work in you believers.

2 Timothy 2:2  what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,  17 that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Ephesians 4:11-13 The gifts he [Christ] gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,  12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,  13 until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.

Colossians 1:25 I became its [the Church's] servant according to God's commission that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known....

My Own Training for this Work:

My ordination is with the Church of Uganda.

I hold a B.A. from the University of Michigan with majors in philosophy and psychology, an M.T.S. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in New Testament Studies, and a PhD from Duke University in New Testament and Christian Origins.  My doctoral dissertation, 'Gospel and Mission in Paul's Ethics' (1989) argued for a narrative approach to ethics in Paul's writings.

I have taught since 1985 in various countries and lived in a number of them, starting programmes, teaching courses, and engaging in mission activities.  I have worked in various denominations where the Church remains theologically and ethically orthodox and Evangelical.
